Morning remembrances

1

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed devil

Allah, there is no god but He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of guarding them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Whoever says it in the morning will be protected from the jinn until evening, and whoever says it in the evening will be protected from the jinn until the morning.

2

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Say, "He is Allah, [Who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent."

Whoever says this in the morning and evening will be protected from all evil (Sura Ikhlas and the two Mu'awwidhat).

3

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn from the evil of that which He created, and from the evil of the darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of the envy when it envies."

Protects you from all harm, whether from jinn, envy, or anything else in this world.

4

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the whisperer who withdraws, who whispers in the breasts of mankind, from among jinn and among mankind."

Protects the servant from all evil and harm.

5

We have entered the morning and the sovereignty belongs to Allah, and all praise is for Allah. There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs the sovereignty and to Him belongs the praise, and He is capable of everything. O my Lord, I ask You for the best of what is in this day and the best of what follows it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil of what follows it. O my Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the evil of old age. O my Lord, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the fire and the punishment of the grave.

Protects you from all things.

6

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I am on Your covenant and promise as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I acknowledge my sin. Forgive me, for there is none who forgives sins except You.

Whoever says it with certainty in the evening and dies that night, will enter Paradise. Likewise, in the morning.

7

I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace be upon him) as my Prophet.

Whoever says it in the morning and in the evening, Allah will ensure that He is pleased with them on the Day of Judgment.

8

O Allah, I bear witness to You, and I bear witness to the carriers of Your Throne, and Your angels, and all Your creatures, that You are Allah, there is no god but You, alone, without partner. And that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger.

Whoever says this will be freed from the Hellfire.

9

O Allah, whatever blessing I or anyone among Your creation has received, it is from You alone, with no partner. To You belongs all praise and thanks.

Whoever says it in the morning will fulfill the gratitude for the day.

10

Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no god but He. Upon Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the mighty throne.

Whoever says it will be sufficed by Allah in all matters of this world and the Hereafter.

11

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Nothing from Allah will harm him.

12

O Allah, by You we have entered the morning and by You we have entered the evening. By You we live and by You we die, and to You is the return.

The Prophet ﷺ used to say this when he entered the morning.

13

We have entered the morning upon the natural disposition of Islam, upon the word of sincerity, upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and upon the religion of our father Abraham, who was a hanif (monotheist) and a Muslim, and was not of the polytheists.

Helps to feel tranquility and peace, reduces anxiety and stress, and boosts self-confidence.

14

Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him, the number of His creation, His satisfaction, the weight of His Throne, and the ink of His words.

Uncountable good deeds.

15

O Allah, grant me health in my body, grant me health in my hearing, grant me health in my sight. There is no god but You.

Defensive protection from Allah against illnesses and calamities.

16

O Allah, I testify before You, and I testify before the bearers of Your Throne, Your angels, and all Your creation that You are Allah, there is no god but You alone without any partners, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Your Messenger.

Abu Bakrah (RA) said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say this."

17

O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion, my world, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, cover my faults and protect me from the terror of the Day of Judgment. O Allah, protect me from what is before me, what is behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Majesty from being struck down from beneath me.

The Prophet ﷺ never missed saying these supplications when entering the evening and morning.

18

O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I call upon You for Your mercy. Set right for me all of my affairs and do not entrust me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.

One of the greatest supplications that affirm worship to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

19

We have entered the morning and the kingdom belongs to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this day, its victory, its success, its light, its blessing, and its guidance, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what is in it and the evil of what follows it.

An effective way to draw nearer to Allah and achieve happiness and peace in life.

20

O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of everything and its King, I bear witness that there is no god but You, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul, from the evil of Satan and his evil, and from committing harm upon myself or bringing it to a Muslim.

The Prophet ﷺ recommended his companions to say this every morning and evening.

21

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

A cause for driving away Satan.

22

O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad.

Whoever sends blessings upon him in the morning and evening will be granted his intercession on the Day of Judgment.

23

O Allah, we seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and we ask forgiveness for what we do not know.

The situations in which one seeks refuge from known polytheism and asks forgiveness for the unknown.

24

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from the overwhelming burden of debt and the oppression of men.

This is a prayer that the Prophet ﷺ used to recite.

25

I ask forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty, there is no god but He, the Living, the Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance.

He is forgiven even if he fled from the battlefield.

26

O my Lord, to You belongs all praise as is due to the majesty of Your Face and the greatness of Your Sovereignty.

The angels ascend to the heavens, speak to Allah, and say that so-and-so has said this prayer.

27

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds.

It is good for a Muslim to maintain this every morning, following the example of the noble Prophet ﷺ.

28

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. I place my trust in You, and You are the Lord of the Great Throne. What Allah wills happens, and what He does not will does not happen. There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. I know that Allah is capable of everything, and that Allah has encompassed everything with knowledge. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of every creature that You take by the forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path.

Whoever says this in the morning will not be afflicted by any calamity until the evening, and whoever says it in the evening will not be afflicted by any calamity until the morning.

29

There is no god but Allah, alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs the praise, and He is capable of everything.

It is as if he has freed ten slaves, and a hundred good deeds are written for him, a hundred sins are erased, and he is protected from the devil.

30

Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him.

His sins will be forgiven, even if they were like the foam of the sea. No one will come on the Day of Judgment with something better than what he brought, except someone who says like him or adds to it.

31

I ask forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance.

He gains a hundred good deeds, a hundred sins are erased, and he is protected from the devil until the evening.
