Joplin is a free open source note-taking and to-do application that can handle large amounts of notes organized into notebooks。

These notes are searchable and can be copied, marked up and modified directly from the application or your own text editor. These notes are formatted in Markdown.。

Notes exported from Evernote via .enex files can be imported into Joplin, including formatted content (converted to Markdown), resources (images, attachments, etc.) and complete metadata (geolocation, update time, creation time, etc.). Ordinary markup files can also be imported。

Notes can be synced with various cloud services, including Nextcloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, WebDAV or file systems (e.g. with network directories). When notes, notebooks, tags, and other metadata are synced, they are saved to plain text files that can be easily inspected, backed up, and moved。

The app is available for Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and iOS (the terminal app is also available for FreeBSD). Firefox and Chrome also offer a web cropper that can save web pages and screenshots from the browser。
