FilmConvert Nitrate is a long-awaioed update of a fantastic plugin for film simulation. Immediately after launch, a pleasant interface design is noticeable: more colors in plugins for more pleasure. There are also new tools for more accurate control over the end image. In the update Nitrate now has Log versions of the original film emulation. This means that you can now control the degree of contrast and saturation that you apply to the chosen film with better accuracy. Finally, the program now uses a full image processing conveyor in a journal – for example, as DaVinci Resolve – so that the entire dynamic range of the footage is maintained throughout the classification process.
