ColorWell macOS – the program allows you to create or edit color palettes, which are then synchronized directly with the palettes in the system color selection system. There are only two windows that you need to worry about, they are both a bit of weird and their interaction is not very well documented, but once you deal with it, everything will become clear.

In the main editing window of the square, all the work takes place; the Palettes window is responsible only for import/export and synchronization. (There is also a Palette Generator window with six main options for creating a palette based on the color chosen, but it is an optional feature). The main editing window provides a much better interface for editing and comparing colors than a system selector.

One oddity is that the palettes cannot be saved from this window: you need to switch to the Palettes window and click + to save the current contents of the editing window into a new palette – and immediately synchronize with the system switch. Unlike some similar applications, colors are stored in the general RGB space, rather than sampling in sRGB, so that the values are saved. There is no problem, but there is a complete history of all the changes, which is certainly better than nothing.

ColorWell seems unique in what it offers to its users and does it very well.
