Accentize Chameleon 2 2.1.4

German manufacturer Accentize regularly produces very interesting plugins, most of which work with technologies from the field of artificial intelligence. Often these are tools that are extremely useful in post-processing or sound design. Chameleon 2 – this is the last update of the plugin that deals with reverberation – but not at all as you used to do.

In a sense, you can call Chameleon the analogue of DeRoom. While the DeRoom task – to remove the contents of the room from the audio tracks as cleanly as possible, Chameleon – also in the new version – goes the other way. We are talking about the “removal” of the sound of reverberation from existing records and re-creating it as realistically as possible.

What is it for? First, the developer means post-processing. ADR- or Foley-Matching is a very important story, especially in movies when it has to be recorded later. It is assumed that Chameleon will remove reverberation from existing records with multiple mouse clicks and thereby facilitate post-processing. And it is at least as practical for sound design. The plugin creates pulse responses from the room part of the records that you save in WAV format.
